*WARNING: This post contains A LOT of super sexy photographs!*
So, I tried so hard to narrow down the photos from this shoot for this blog post (so I don’t overwhelm you) but… I failed. There’s still a lot. ♥ (Who could blame me though, right?!)
This is Miss L. She is an incredibly fun, sweet, beautiful, smart, and confident woman. But she didn’t always feel that way.
If you just happened across a photo of Miss L you would probably assume that she was a professional model. That she has the perfect body, an incredible smile, and that everything must be so easy for her. “Of course her photographs are amazing, Maggie, she’s gorgeous!” might be something you would say to me.
But she’s not a model.
(I know, right?! She should be.)
The truth is, Miss L is just like you and me. She’s just a ‘normal’ girl. (I say ‘normal’ because I don’t think any of us are normal, really.)
I think that it’s easy for us to see photos of beautiful women here and to think that they are nothing like we are. That somehow they are different, better. We think “it’s one thing for them to have beautiful photos but there is no way I would ever look that beautiful”. But I want to remind you that that is not true. The women that I blog about are regular women. Women just like you and me. They have the same hardships, the same fears, doubts, and body image issues as any of us.
And they are all incredible people, just like you are. (even if you forgot)
I actually went to high school with Miss L, but we had different friends and we didn’t really keep in touch after school was over. I’d see pictures and posts from her on Facebook occasionally but that was about the extent of our contact. And then a few months ago, she reached out to me. She had recently gotten a divorce and she was ready to celebrate herself. So we planned her boudoir shoot. ♥
Miss L came into the studio and had her hair and makeup done by Morgan (if you aren’t familiar with who Morgan is read this post) while we all chatted and got to know each other better. Morgan did something a little different this time and did a super fun, flirty ombre on Miss L’s lips and then to balance that out she went with a neutral color pallette for the rest of the look.
Once again, I asked Miss L if she would answer some questions for us about her boudoir experience and she was more than happy to do that for us. So keep reading to see how she felt before, during and after her shoot and what she thinks about her photographs. ♥
I have always wanted to do a boudoir photo shoot, although I never had the confidence to do so. I was previously in a marriage where I didn’t feel beautiful and I felt very broken. After my divorce, my confidence started to build and I started to feel more beautiful inside and out! I wanted to do this boudoir shoot to show the new confident me and to represent my empowering experience from feeling broken to feeling the strongest I have ever felt!
