Utah desert boudoir?! Yep!! A boudoir shoot in the desert! I promise I didn’t mean dessert boudoir (although I have shot boudoir with cupcakes before!!)
I’m so excited to finally show you this beautiful woman’s photographs!! Can you believe that Mrs. P has 4 grown children??! I sure didn’t when she first told me. lol! Then I met her, and she is just so sweet and loving and caring, and I was instantly ready to adopt her as my third mother. (My mom is a twin, and her twin is my second mom so Mrs. P would be mom #3!) 🙂
When she called me a few weeks ago, she told me that she wanted to do a photo shoot out at the Bonneville Salt Flats and it was all I could do to not scream ‘Hell yeah!’ at her. lol! She had an important date coming up that she needed her photographs for so we jumped straight into planning so that we didn’t miss her deadline.
On the day of her photo shoot I made her get up SUPER early (think 5 am on a Sunday morning! poor thing) to start hair and makeup. An hour and a half – and some caffeine – later we were on our way to the desert! At the last minute we decided not to go all the way out to the salt flats (it’s like an hour and 45 minute drive from my place) so we just started driving west and we ended up finding a pretty spot (the whole place is pretty) about 45 minutes down the road.
Mrs. P really loves the ocean so we wanted to incorporate that into her shoot. We found some water to bring in some of that beach feel but unfortunately it was less than an inch deep (it looked really deep though!) and super crazy muddy!! My amazing assistant Hayley and I ended up taking our shoes off so the mud didn’t eat them, and the mud built up on our feet so much that our footprints looked like Bigfoot had joined us for our shoot. lol!
We also had some run-ins with some red ants but Hayley squished them before they ate me, thanks Hayley! What is my deal with red ants lately??! Don’t know what I’m talking about? Go take a peek at Jesi’s bridals after you look at Mrs. P’s photos and you’ll find out. 🙂
Don’t forget to leave a comment for Mrs. P!!
